Practice Expectations
●Be Prompt - Please plan to be at the pool 5 minutes before your child(ren)'s group begins practice. Warm-up participation is an important part of staying healthy.
●Be Prepared - Swimmers need a towel, goggles, an appropriate suit (female: one piece suit, male: jammer or speedo), a cap/ hair tie (for swimmers with long hair), and a water bottle (glass is not permitted on the pool deck by swimmers or parents). Sunscreen should be applied prior to practice.
●Be Polite - Your child is expected to follow instructions of the coach(es) and to treat others with respect.
●No Swim Shirts - they hinder your child's ability to master the strokes. Please use sunscreen instead!
●Swimmers are expected to attend morning practice. Alternate make-up evening practices are offered Tues/Thurs 7:30-8:30pm (all ages - 3 lanes only).
●Please keep your swimmer home if they are sick, appear sick or have had a fever in the past 24 hours.
●Parents do not need to remain at the pool for the entire practice, but must ensure their child safely arrives and leaves with the necessary equipment.
●Please feel free to utilize the Clover Hill Park and Playground during practice, especially with smaller children who may want to be active! The baby pool may not be used by swimmers’ younger siblings during practice.
●If you decide to stay for practice, please find seating on the grassy areas around the pool or the picnic tables at the deep end of the pool. Please do not sit on the pool deck/cement. The coaches move around the pool constantly throughout practice and it makes it challenging when they have to maneuver around spectators.
●Any questions, comments, or concerns you would like to address to the coaches, please send an email and the coach will follow up with you. Please do not interrupt the coaches during practice. Practices and transition times are busy and it will be difficult for the coach to give you their full attention at that time. Please use the email address for Coach Jackie ([email protected]) or for the Board ([email protected]).
●Please let the coaches do the coaching during practice (no sideline parenting coaching please! )
